CENTRAL TEXAS FLIGHT TRAINING
|Accelerate Forward to a Future in Aviation.|
My love for flying started as a young boy in New Braunfels, TX. Today I manage a corporate flight department for a large oil and gas wholesaler based in Temple, TX. Through out my years in college, I studied and learned all I could about aviation while building time and adding ratings. I received a degree in economics and finance which I use in my career today. I opened Central Texas Flight Training to give back to the aviation industry and offer a place for folks to go learn real world senarios in a training environment. I along with the other CFI’s at Central Texas Flight Training take pride in not only being a professional aviator but teaching others how to make their dream a reality. I can tell you from experience with over 5300 hours flown and over 1800 hours as an instructor that if you want to learn to fly for a career or just for pleasure, it can be done. I wish you all the best!

I first had a flight from a grass strip in 1988 in a Piper J3 Cub in Upstate NY and have been hooked since. I joined the US Army in 1993 and became and Air Traffic Controller in 1995. I started my flight training in 1991. I separated from the Army in 1999. I re-entered the US Army in 2002 as an ArmyWarrant Officer and Aviator. Since then I have flown multiple helicopters and airplanes all over the globe. During this time I have continued to work and challenge myself for additional ratings and hold a bachelor’s of science degree in aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I have attained over 4500 hours with 3,000 in helicopters and 1500+ in both single and multi-engine airplanes. My love of aviation continues and I get great satisfaction from sharing my love of aviation with others. I have been a flight instructor since 2006 and with more than 1500 hrs of instruction given. There is no better feeling
than to see someone fulfil their dream of flight and to pass that ever important checkride!

Mike’s love for flying began long ago when he earned the Aviation Merit Badge prior to becoming an Eagle Scout in 1994. He began his flying career soon after in 1995, learning on a Piper 180 in his hometown of Beloit, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh and commissioning as an officer in 2001, Mike followed his dream of becoming an Air Force A-10 fighter pilot and has deployed multiple times, in support of operations across the globe. In 2010, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor for combat action in Afghanistan, and was also awarded the Anthony C. Shine Award for top fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Mike has been an instructor since 2004, and has amassed more than 3,500 hours in the A-10, T-38, T-6, T-37, and numerous general aviation aircraft. Besides his love for aviation and passion to teach, he takes great pride in being a dad, husband and Scoutmaster of a local scout troop. He looks forward to flying with you soon!
